Privacy Policy

Last updated October 22, 2026

This policy describes how Sublet (“Sublet,” “we,” “us”) handles personal information when you use the Sublet mobile app and subletmarketplace.com. It is product copy, not legal advice. Review it with counsel before launch.

Information we collect

Identity verification

Identity verification is handled by Stripe Identity. Stripe processes your government ID and selfie under its own privacy terms. Sublet receives a verification status, such as verified, pending, or failed, and a session reference. We do not receive the underlying images.

How we use information

What is shared

Hosts can see the profile and application details of renters who contact them. Renters can see public host profiles and listing information. Exact addresses are stored separately and are shared only with the host, the accepted renter, and authorized trust-and-safety staff. We use service providers for authentication, hosting, storage, messaging, analytics, and identity verification.

Retention and deletion

We retain account and marketplace records while needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. You can delete your account from Settings in the app. Some records may be retained where required by law or for legitimate safety purposes.

Your choices and rights

You can edit your profile, control notification categories, and delete your account in the app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under US state privacy laws or Canadian privacy laws, including access, correction, deletion, or appeal rights. Contact us to make a request.

Children

Sublet is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
